My Miracle Mantra
I am committed to maintaining Unwavering Faith that I will Create a professional photography business, and I will put forth Extraordinary Effort until I do, no matter what…there is no other option
The reason I am committed to my mission is because I will be able to live with less stress, enjoy my time off, and help Ron in creating and living the life we want to live together.
To ensure that the attainment of my mission is inevitable, I will remain committed to my process of working in and on my business 8 hours a day for 40 hours a week by creating and following my business plan, without being emotionally attached to my results.
I am committed to my mission and maintain Unwavering Faith while putting forth Extraordinary Effort, because I know that I am just as worthy, deserving, and capable of creating tangible, measurable miracles and achieving everything I want, as any other person on earth.
My Process Execution
What did I do today?
5 am: wake up and drink coffee, make smoothies, check email, do my Day 2 assessment
845 am: leave for 1 Million Cups (1MC), the drive to Lewisburg SBDC takes 20 minutes
9 am: 1MC meeting. Listened to 2 presentations: Skillion IOT Solutions by Pete Cooper, and Susquehanna Valley Community Education Project. At the end of the meeting, I spoke with the presenter for the Susquehanna Valley Community Education Project about better ways to communicate to the community, and she asked if I would do a short segment (30 seconds) for one of their videos. I sent her my digital business card, for her to have my contact information and reach out to me. I also asked Erin Demcher, of Autism and Behavior Resources, about working with her for branding images. I told her I was taking a course in brand photography, and thought she would be perfect to work with while I am in the course. She immediately told me she needs headshots, and would love to have some images for her website. I think she is a strong service based business to work with, because she is consistently doing events and activities, and will have a large amount things we can photograph for her to share for her marketing. In return for her working with me while I am completing the course, I asked that she provide me feedback throughout the time we work together, and provide me a review and any referrals she thinks I can help serve. We set up a meeting for Monday, the 16th at 2pm at Tastecraft in Milton.
1056 am: CoWork at Startup Lewisburg. After the 1MC meeting, the SBDC hosts a cowork event in the Startup space in the building. While there, I confirmed my speaking spot for next month's 1 Million Cups meeting, and also reviewed the 2020 Small Business Association Resource Magazine. I will look further into registering as a woman owned business, and any veteran registration I should complete as well. I also looked through the business plan article, and the article about starting a business in PA. While I am already registered, since my mission is to create a professional photography business, I need to ensure I am in compliance with all state and federal regulations, while also utilizing every available resource to build a successful and sustainable business.
1139 am: I went to Bucknell to get Bear, so we could spend some time together, and eat lunch. We went to Towne Tavern in Lewisburg. We talked about different marketing tactics for my Mother's Day campaign, which he is writing a paper about for one of his classes. After lunch, I dropped him off at Bucknell, and on my way home, stopped at the Mifflinburg Post Office to send the 2 packages, Kati's Mary Kay starter gift, and an order from Amazon. I did not have my wallet with me, so I had to go home, and then go back to the post office to pay for the packages to be sent. This was a stupid way to waste 30ish minutes, and gas.
2 pm: When I got home, I started the crock pot for dinner. Following the recipe, the prep took me about 40 minutes, but it being a slow cooker, I just have to make sure it is set, and it will handle itself.
245 pm: I started work again on the ROTC images, to complete the job. I worked on retouching the reception, receiving line, and finalizing the guest speaker images. I worked until 630 pm. Overall, I actively worked in my business for 6 hours and 30 minutes. For the entire day, I worked for a total of 10 hours.
630 pm: Since I have been hit with the stuffy nose monster of early spring pollen, I am not feeling all that great. My sinuses are completely block, and my tummy is not super awesome since breathing through my mouth causes me to swallow a lot of air (gross). I did not eat dinner, and ended up eating some rice cakes around 830ish while we watched James Mays show in Japan, and played Mario Kart. Ron did eat dinner, so I will need to clean the dishes and kitchen up.
Assessment
I will assess my process and progress at the end of every work day on this blog. To assess I will answer the following questions
What was my biggest win towards my mission in the last 24 hours?
My biggest win is talking to Erin about pictures, and setting up a meeting with her
Did I follow through with my process?
I started the process, working a total of 6.5 hours actively and a full 10 hours during the day. It feels really great sticking to my schedule, and accomplishing things on my task list
What was my biggest area of improvement?
Not taking a nap, or coming up with an excuse to not work
Is there anything I could be doing differently or better?
I can spend some time during my breaks, or before or after I start my mission time cleaning the house a bit.
What lessons have I learned so far?
If I just focus on one task, I am able to get through it. This means no phone, no social media, no moving on to anything because I had an idea pop in my head.
Are there any changes/adjustment to my Process that I need to make?
At the end of my mission time, I need to complete my assessment
Is there anyone else I can reach out to for advice or feedback?
Not for the present focus of completing the ROTC images.
